Fire destroys barn near Hume

 

At 6:42 pm yesterday, the Hume Fire Department received a call that a barn was on fire south of town off MM Hwy. 3 trucks and 10 volunteers responded. Thank you to Foster fire department and Rich Hill Missouri Fire Department for having tanker support on standby.

Throughout the weekend and into today, local fire departments have been running pretty much non-stop with grass fires throughout the region. 

Please avoid outdoor burning and use caution when discarding cigarettes. Although the ground is soft from recent rains, it's still very dry.
