Burn ban in effect
The Rich Hill Fire Department is implementing a burn ban effective immediately and until further notice due to extremely dry weather conditions and elevated fire danger warnings. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep the community safe.
Harrisonville students participate in Educators Rising State Competition
On Friday, March 7, six Cass Career Center Teaching Professions students competed at Educators Rising State Competition in Fulton, Missouri. Four of the students qualified for Nationals in Orlando, FL this June.

Obituary - Patricia Mellenbruch
Patricia is survived by her husband Jerry; daughter, Peggy (Tom) Turner of Rose Hill, KS; daughter-in-law, Michelle Mellenbruch of Ballwin MO; grandsons, Brent Mellenbruch of Ballwin, Alan (Destiny) Turner, Rose Hill, KS, Brandon (Nichole) Mellenbruch, Troy, MO, Nathan (Lacey) Mellenbruch, Haines City, FL and Austin Mellenbruch Ballwin, MO; great-grandchildren, Cooper Mellenbruch, Connor Mellenbruch and Hadley Turner; 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Patricia was preceded in death by son, Richard Mellenbruch; parents, Leonard and Leona (Shelton) Boyles; 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
Patricia’s legacy will continue to live through the generations she so dearly loved. She will be remembered by all who have been lucky enough to be a part of her life.
Services will be Wednesday March 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill, MO

Obituary - Clark Edward (Ed) Fancher
Ed was in the Navy in the Korean War and was a Mine Sweeper from 1950 to 1954. Ed owned and operated Professional Home Improvement Co., a siding and gutter company, from 1977 to 2012 in Nevada, MO. He also raised cattle which he enjoyed very much.
Ed loved to visit with people and could do so for hours.
Ed is survived by his wife Norma of the home; four step children, Bruce (Tina) Buckner, Rich Hill, Gina Butler, Nevada, Rick (Louann) Williams, Nevada, and Melinda (Perry Cornett, Parker, KS; and a son-in-law, Melvin Ewing, Butler, MO; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three great-great-granddaughters, and a great-great-grandson on the way. He loved and treated them all as his own. Ed is also survived by nieces and nephews in Oklahoma and Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepdaughter, Diana Ewing; two brothers, Les and Jack Fancher; three sisters, Imogene Matthews, Mary Lee Hillard, and Helen Reed; and one grandson, Michael in 1973
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment with Military Funeral Honors will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, MO.
Memorials are suggested in his name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Schneider Funeral Home, Pleasanton Chapel. Burial will follow in the Pleasanton Cemetery.
