Obituary - Anna Marie Fink

Anna Marie (Hartman) Fink, 88 of Drexel, Missouri passed away in her home on Monday March 3rd, 2025.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, March 23, 2025 in Sharon Cemetery, Drexel, Missouri. A Celebration of Life service will be held following the graveside at the Drexel Community Building, Drexel. Services under the direction of Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel chapel (816-657-4400). Memorial contributions may be made to the Drexel City Pool. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.

Anna Marie was born July 9, 1936, in Miami County, KS, daughter of Charles Joseph Hartman and Mary Ethel (Carter) Hartman. Anna Marie “Ree” attended grade school at Franklin School house in Sugar-Creek Township and Drexel elementary/high school.

Ree was united in marriage to Ernest Fink on August 3rd, 1953 in Louisburg, KS at the Catholic church. Ernie and Ree moved east of Drexel and started their life farming and ranching south of the Woodland school house, near Ernie’s parents.

Ernie and Ree had two children, Joseph Edward Fink and Lorrie Jane (Fink) Cook, they were raised on the farm where they learned their hard work ethic and their love for family. As a homemaker, Ree spent a lot of her time sewing. She sewed several items for her family including: Lorrie’s formal dresses in High School, her bridal party dresses and several matching dresses for the granddaughters and baby blankets for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ree grew up on a farm with her four siblings (one brother and 3 sisters), she made sure to stay in close contact with her siblings along with her nieces and nephews. Whether it was grabbing coffee on Saturday at Caroline's Cafe or simply spending time together at one of the siblings' houses. Ree and Ernie’s house was always a favorite among the nieces and nephews.

As Ree’s family continued to grow, she would always find happiness in providing home-made noodles at Sunday lunches and playing canasta. She also enjoyed spending countless hours following her grandchildren’s athletic careers. These traditions continued with her next generation. Ree also welcomed the great-grandchildren with ice cream bars, ice tea, and lots and lots of toys.

Ree enjoyed waiting tables throughout her life. She started working at Snead’s BBQ in Belton, MO in the mid 1970’s, which later became Keegan’s in Martin City, MO. She worked for 30+ years serving BBQ and perfecting her coleslaw. Her coleslaw was liked by many people. In her later years Ree continued to make her famous slaw and take to Westline Opry where people would bring to go containers to take home the leftovers.

If you knew Ree you would know that she was always ready to GO! It was a known fact that every morning Ree would get up and get ready, just in case someone wanted to go and do something. It didn’t matter where: Las Vegas, Cowboy Church, Westline Opry, any ballgame, Miss B’s, or Taco Tuesday. The last four years Ree has lived independently in her apartment always on the go with her sisters, nieces, and friends.

Anna Marie is preceded in death by her husband Ernest Fink, son Joe Fink, her parents and siblings JE Hartman, Jane Lane, Mary Jo Poindexter. She is survived by her daughter Lorrie and husband Bryon Cook and daughter-in-law Dixie Fink all of Drexel. Ree is also survived by her four grandchildren and their families, BryAnn Middleton of Harrisonville, Adrianne (Alan) Lane of Louisburg, Amy (Tyson) Basore of Butler, and Shane Fink of Drexel. Along with eight great grandchildren, Sami Lane, Kennedy Middleton, Camryn Lane, Claire Fink, Gunnar Basore, Cole Fink, Reagan Middleton, and Payton Basore. She is also survived by sister Jeanie (Earl) Brewster of Adrian, MO as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
