Cass county pursuit ends peacefully

Last night just before 10:30, deputies responded to a call regarding a pursuit in Peculiar.
The Peculiar - MO Police Department was pursuing a car heading northbound on I-49 and J Highway.

Cass County Sheriff’s Deputies joined the pursuit at North Cass Parkway. They caught up to the vehicle near I-49 and 163rd St. in Belton.
That’s where the Belton Missouri Police Department successfully deployed a tire deflation device. A short time later, a deputy with the Criminal Apprehension Unit successfully grappled the suspect’s vehicle at I-49 and 155th St.
The suspect exited the vehicle without incident and was arrested.
He’s been identified as 20-year-old Brady Waughtal of Peculiar.
Waughtal has been charged Aggravated Fleeing a Stop, which is a D Felony. He’s also been charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle in a Careless and Imprudent Manner, which is a Class B Misdemeanor.
