Vickie Mae Fowler 72, of Butler, Missouri, gained her heavenly wings on May 6, 2025.She was born on June 1, 1952 in Butler, Missouri to Ray Warren and Ida Mae (Porter) Thomas. Vickie spent her early childhood attending Peru, a one room schoolhouse except for first grade, which she completed during a brief time the family lived in Torrington, Wyoming. They later returned to the family farm near Butler, where she continued school at Peru until beginning 7th grade in town. She was raised with strong values of faith, family, and hard work on their dairy farm.
She graduated from Butler High School, where she was active in 4-H and music competitions; She always loved to sing, and music remained a part of her life through the years. after graduation, she attended Draughon's Business College in Springfield, Missouri. Once she completed her education, Vickie returned home and began working at MFA, where she met the love of her life, Jerry Fowler. It took several extras feed store visits and a fair amount of dog food, but Jerry eventually ask her on a date------to the Missouri State Fair. That first Date began a marriage that lasted nearly five decades. Vickie and Jerry were married on February 22, 1975, and together they raised three daughters: JaNell, JaNetta, and Jeri Lynn.

Vickie was more than a devoted farm wife--she was a steady hand, a determined worker, and the heart of the family's operation. She worked side-by-side with her husband raising pigs until the mid-1980's, as well as cattle and row crops. In addition to farming, she sold seed for several companies and they earned numerous awards along the way.
Her loyalty and love for her family were unmatched, and her daughters and grandchildren were her greatest treasures. She was always there--at every event, every concert, every game, every milestone. Her presence was a constant source of support and love throughout their lives.
Vickie's faith was her foundation, and her love for others was woven into everything she did. Whether it was remembering birthdays with a card, call, or text, or simply offering a listening ear, she had a way of making people feel cared for and deeply loved. She had a special love for butterflies, hummingbirds, and being outside--from flowers in bloom to ducks on the pond. She found joy in life's simplest moments: working in her garden, hearing a good song on the radio, visits from her girls, and hearing stories about her grandkids--especially when they came with hugs. She could sew anything you have her and knit with beautiful, careful hands, creating gifts and treasures that are still held close by those she loved.
In recent years she cherished her Thursday church group, Young At Heart, where she built treasured friendships and found peace in fellowship.
Though her absence leaves a deep ache, her love lives on in the lives she touched. Her daughters and grandchildren will carry her memory in their hearts, in their homes, and in the way they love others--just like she taught them to.
She is survived by her daughters, JaNell Ferguson (Brad) of Adrian, Missouri, JaNetta Daniels (Jess) of Liberal, Missouri, and Jeri Lynn Fowler ( J.R. Carroll) of Deepwater, Missouri; and her grandchildren: Clayton, Callie, and Cale Ferguson, and Ty Carroll, step-grandchildren Ethan Daniels, Michaela Lovejoy (Colten), and one step-great-grandchild, Jax Lovejoy.
She is also survived by her sisters, Dianna Silvers and Lisa Hager; as well as her niece, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Fowler, in 2022; her parents, Ray and Ina Mae Thomas; and her father- and mother-in-law, Jerold (Buddy) and Darlene Fowler.
A Visitation will be Monday, May 12, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be Tuesday May 13, at 11:00AM with Rev. Dr. Matthew Silvers and Pastor Dan Toney officiating all at Consalus Funeral Home Chapel . Burial will follow at Englewood Cemetery.
