Obituary - Russell Jayden Mason

Russell Jayden Mason age 22 of Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life Friday, May 9, 2025.

Cremation with a Celebration of Life Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Harvesters Community Food Network. Donations may be made through the link or sent to Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 432, Harrisonville, Missouri 64701.

Missouri Department of Conservation offering free virtual trapping series

Learn about trapping as a nuisance wildlife control technique at a free, virtual event with the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) on May 22 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Participants will learn about the purposes of trapping and different types of traps such as foothold, deadfall, snares, and more. They also will discuss different types of sets for the traps.

Lucas Cardenas to attend National 4-H Shooting Sports Teen Leadership Institute

 Congratulations to Nevada High School Air Force JROTC cadet Lucas Cardenas for his selection to attend the coveted 2025 National 4-H Shooting Sports Teen Leadership Institute.

The Leadership Institute is designed to “expand youth horizons through their voice, image, and vision.” Lucas was previously selected as a Missouri 4-H Shooting Sports Ambassador to promote 4-H and 4-H Shooting Sports and will now refine his skills in leadership, public presentation, citizenship, community service, character development, public relations, and team building.
Cardenas will receive his training at the University of Idaho from July 29 - August 2.

Sheriff Aaron Brown reports the following arrests and incidents for the week of May 02, through May 08, 2025.
May 2, 2025 – Warrant Arrest:
Sgt. Richardson arrested Lisa Vickers, age 39, of Clinton, on a Henry County warrant for domestic assault.
• May 2, 2025 – Driving While Suspended/Revoked:
Deputies Saulters and Murphy conducted a traffic stop in the Clinton area that resulted in the arrest of Lowell Loberg, age 43, of Clinton, for driving while suspended/revoked.
• May 3, 2025 – Warrant Arrest:
Deputy Murphy conducted a follow-up investigation in the Deepwater area, resulting in the arrest of Adam Johnson, age 44, of Clinton, on a Jackson County warrant for a public order crime.
• May 3, 2025 – Domestic Assault:
Cpl. England and Deputy Murphy conducted a follow-up investigation in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of Maverick Hulsizer, age 21, of Windsor, on a 24-hour hold for domestic assault. A warrant was later issued for domestic assault in the 2nd and 3rd degrees with $10,000 cash only bond.
• May 3, 2025 – Resisting Arrest by Fleeing:
Deputy Stevens initiated a traffic stop in the Windsor area. The vehicle failed to yield and came to a stop near AC Highway on 52 Highway. With assistance from Sheriff Brown, Sgt. Logan, Deputy Douglas, and MSHP Master Sergeant Bremer, Derek Underwood, age 43, of Warrensburg, was arrested for resisting arrest by fleeing and placed on a 24-hour hold. He was also arrested on a Warrensburg warrant for shoplifting. A warrant was issued for aggravated fleeing a stop, with a $15,000 cash-only bond.
• May 4, 2025 – Warrant Arrest:
Sgt. Logan and Deputy Murphy conducted a follow-up in the Deepwater area that resulted in the arrest of Jesse Auten, age 42, of Fair Play, on a Clinton warrant for a traffic offense.
• May 4, 2025 – Assault:
Sgt. Logan and Deputy Murphy conducted a follow-up investigation in the Deepwater area that resulted in the arrest of Dawn Gregory, age 63, of Deepwater, for assault in the 4th degree.
• May 5, 2025 – Warrant Arrest:
Deputy Wyatt conducted a follow-up investigation in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of David Krantz, age 24, of Windsor, on two Pettis County warrants for traffic violations.
• May 6, 2025 – Warrant Arrest:
Deputy Chaney conducted a follow-up investigation in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of Timothy Barrett, age 37, of Windsor, on a Johnson County warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
• May 7, 2025 – Domestic Assault:
Sheriff Brown, Lt. Kubilus, Sgt. Logan, and Cpl. England conducted a follow-up investigation in the Deepwater area that resulted in the arrest of John Morris, age 51, of Deepwater, on a 24-hour hold for domestic assault. The subject was released pending formal charges.
• May 7, 2025 – Warrant Arrest:
Sgt. Logan, Det. Landes, and Deputies Stevens and Douglas conducted a follow-up investigation in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of Louis Robinett, age 48, of Windsor, on the following warrants:
- Henry County warrant for stealing
- Henry County warrant for driving while revoked
- Johnson County warrant for possession of a controlled substance
-Robinett was also questioned in connection with several ongoing investigations.
• May 8, 2025 – Domestic Assault and Resisting Arrest:
Cpl. England and Deputies Douglas, Stevens, and Murphy conducted a follow-up investigation in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of Devin Irvin, age 34, of Windsor, on a 24-hour hold for domestic assault and resisting arrest.
