Pursuit Ends Safely in Fontana with Suspects in Custody
Today, Miami County deputies assisted the Osawatomie Police Department with a vehicle pursuit that extended beyond city limits and into the county. As the pursuit continued in the area around Fontana, a deputy assumed control and prepared to initiate a tactical vehicle intervention maneuver.
The occupants of the suspect vehicle were taken into custody by the Osawatomie Police Department without incident. OPD is currently leading the investigation.

Street work begins today in Rich Hill
Work will start on August 7th due to all the locates not being in on time.
Please be advised that Rich Hill City Crews will begin street maintenance work the week of August 4, 2025, through August 8, 2025 (weather and conditions permitting).
Work Location: McCombs Street – from Walnut Street to Cedar Street
Scope of Work: Crew will be cutting ditches and removing existing pavement as part of the street improvement project.
Traffic Impact: There may be temporary road closures in the work area. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and exercise caution when traveling near construction zones.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve our city’s infrastructure.

Bret A. Clark, 68, of Louisburg, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at his home.
