Something to consider regarding your hay operations

Haymaking has long been a tradition for livestock producers but is it still the smartest move for your farm?

MU Extension forage specialist Carson Roberts offers a valuable perspective on why stepping away from hay production might actually benefit your operation.
Key reasons to quit making hay:
◾High equipment costs
◾Cost of labor and time
◾Variable forage quality
◾Profitable alternatives
If you're looking to streamline your operation and boost profitability, get the details: https://brnw.ch/21wUEp3

Henry County Sheriff's Office introduces mobile app

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office mobile app is now live!

This is another step toward stronger communication, deeper transparency, and staying connected with the people we serve. Our new website is almost ready too—and soon, everything will sync seamlessly with the app and our Facebook page.

And yes… the inmate roster is back! We’ve heard you missed it. While some booking photos are doing a little head tilt, our developer is on it. Together, we’re building a more informed and connected Henry County.

Miami County special operations team receive special training

Today, members of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) focused on sharpening their Close Quarters Battle (CQB) techniques.

These vital skills enhance our ability to respond effectively to critical incidents involving armed individuals and help ensure the safety of both officers and the community.
Training like this wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community. A special thank you to Rob George, owner of Legacy Contractors LLC, for allowing us to use a building in Paola — giving our team realistic, dynamic training scenarios to better prepare for real-world situations.
We appreciate the continued partnership that helps us stay ready and resilient.
