Obituary - Berdine Britz

Berdine Britz, 81, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Crown Care in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Harrisonville First Baptist Church. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm on Thursday, September 4 2025, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Burial will be in Valor Park Cemetery in Grain Valley, MO. The family suggests contributions to the Harrisonville First Baptist Church.

Weekly Arrest and Incident Report
Dates: August 22, 2025 – August 28, 2025
Sheriff Aaron Brown reports the following arrests and incidents for the week:
• August 23, 2025 – Assault 3rd Degree (Special Victim):
Deputy England conducted a follow-up investigation at the Henry County Jail that led to the arrest of Cassie Adkins, age 36, of Clinton, on a 24-hour investigative hold for unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and Assault – 4th Degree on Law Enforcement. On the same day, the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office filed formal charges, and the court issued warrants for Resisting Arrest, Assault – 4th Degree, and Assault – 3rd Degree (Special Victim), with a bond set at $25,000 cash only.
• August 23, 2025 – Warrant:
Deputy Douglas conducted a follow-up in the Clinton area that resulted in the arrest of Joseph Dawson, age 44, of Sedalia, on a Henry County warrant for Trespassing.
• August 23, 2025 – Domestic Assault 4th Degree:
Sergeant Baker conducted a follow-up investigation in the rural Clinton area that resulted in the arrest of Joseph Allen, age 37, of Independence, on a 24-hour investigative hold for Domestic Assault – 4th Degree.
• August 24, 2025 – Warrant:
Deputy England conducted a follow-up in the Clinton area that resulted in the arrest of Dylan Lamb, age 27, of Windsor, on a Henry County warrant for traffic offenses.
• August 24, 2025 – Warrant:
Captain Bilbruck conducted a traffic stop in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of John Hoyt, age 56, of Windsor, on a felony probation violation warrant for the original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
• August 26, 2025 – Warrant:
Deputy Saulters arrested Brittany Martin, age 32, of Warrensburg, at the courthouse on a Henry County felony warrant for Burglary – 1st Degree.
• August 27, 2025 – Domestic Assault 4th Degree:
Deputy Wyatt conducted a follow-up investigation in the Sparrowfoot area that resulted in the arrest of Mark Mullen, age 60, of Clinton, on a 24-hour investigative hold for Domestic Assault – 4th Degree.
• August 27, 2025 – Harassment and Trespassing 1st Degree:
Deputy Evans and Deputy McQueen conducted a follow-up investigation in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of Michael Ward, age 26, of Windsor, on a 24-hour investigative hold for Harassment and Trespassing – 1st Degree.
• August 28, 2025 – Warrant:
Deputy Douglas conducted a traffic stop in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of Steven Strong, age 47, of Windsor, on a Pettis County failure-to-appear warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance and four Johnson County warrants for failure to appear on traffic violations.

Obituary - Nancy Lianne (Hutton) Widener

Nancy Lianne (Hutton) Widener, age 50, of Nevada, MO passed away Friday, August 29, 2025, in Nevada, MO.  

Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, MO.  A private family interment will be held at a later date.  The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Obituary - Lyndell Wynn Colburn

Funeral services for Lyndell Wynn Colburn of Butler, Missouri will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler.  Visitation prior to services 10 - 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Schowengerdt Chapel.  Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler.  Contributions to Giving Fore Living or Butler First Christian Church.  Online condolences www.schowengerdtchapel.com.

Lyndell Wynn Colburn, age 87 of Butler, Missouri died Friday, August 29, 2025 at Medicalodge of Butler.  He was born May 31, 1938 to Zack and Pearl Leota Mae Collier Colburn in Luther, Oklahoma.

Lyndell is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Colburn of Butler, Missouri; a son, Weston Colburn and wife Robin of Butler, Missouri; a daughter, Lynette Clover and husband Rob of Butler, Missouri; and six grandchildren, Lillian Colburn, Wyatt Colburn, Alex Clover, Riley Clover, Adyson Clover and Paityn Clover.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
