Since cooler weather and shorter days are here- it's a good reminder to keep porch lights on, secure your homes and vehicles, check on your neighbors and drive carefully as the leaves (and deer) start moving. A connected community is a safer community, and your participation plays a vital role.

Windy but slightly warmer the next couple of days

Looking at tomorrow (Tuesday), notice that east Kansas / west Missouri is wedged right between low pressure in Wyoming/SD, and high pressure over the southeastern U.S.

This sets up a strong pressure gradient making it WINDY Tuesday afternoon.
Expect winds out of the south / southwest, and gusting between 26-30mph.

Patience pays off for youth hunter

Myla Nieder, pictured here with her father Brandon went out opening morning with her bow and saw a dandy buck however, it was too far away.

"That's not going to happen again!" she proclaimed to her family and hence, returned that evening with a rifle and claimed this dandy buck.

Not done yet, she's now waiting for a doe to finish filling the freezer.
