Butler police find drugs in traffic stops

September 1, 2025 a Butler Officer observed a red Hyundai passenger vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Main Street. The Officer also observed the vehicle to have no rear safety glass. The Officer then activated emergency lights and the vehicle pulled into a driveway. The driver, later identified as James Mattingly exited the vehicle and attempted to walk away before being given commands to come back by the Officer.
The driver denied consent to search the vehicle and a K-9 then responded to conduct a free air sniff. K-9 Enzo alerted to the vehicle and a probable cause search was then conducted.
During the search of the vehicle, the Officers located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

November 23, 2025 at approximately 9:05pm, a Butler Officer observed a Ford Focus traveling on Pine Street with a defective headlight. The officer then conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Billie Bolton and the passenger, later identified as Jerry Fuqua.

The Officer requested consent to search the vehicle and Bolton gave consent. Various items to include crystal like substance, syringes filled with a liquid substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, and spoons were located during the search.
