Shirley was born July 9, 1939, in Clinton, Mo., the daughter of Herbert “Pete” and Hazel (Carleton) Summers. She was married to Robert D. Hanger of the home for over 66 years.
Shirley was a beautician in Windsor for over 60 years, having owned and operated Cinderella Beauty Salon. She enjoyed cooking, canning vegetables, working jigsaw puzzles, and doing word search games.
Survivors include her husband Robert D. Hanger; daughter Rhonda Wheeler and son-in-law, Steve Wheeler; sister-in-law, Francine Ballinger; brother-in-law, Jerry Hanger; and several beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jimmie Summers; and a sister-in-law, Linda Quick.
Graveside funeral services were held April 3, 2026, at the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association in care of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
