Obituary - Wanda Rae Garrigus

Wanda Rae Garrigus, 69, of Archie, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO, with a visitation beginning at 4:00 PM.

Swan solar project meet and greet held last night


Clearway Energy held a public meet and greet on Monday evening at the Miami R-1 school to answer questions and provide information regarding the 650 megawatt solar farm known as the Swan Energy Center that will begin construction in July and located just south of Amsterdam, Mo.

The Bringing Light to Agent Orange Awareness Ceremony will be held at 8:30 pm with orange lighting to honor our victims of Agent Orange

A Quilts of Valor ceremony will be held at 3 pm

May 3
The closing ceremony will be held at 1:45 p.m.

The Wall will close for visitors at 2:00 p.m.

The Wall That Heals ready to roll


The truck carrying The Wall That Heals is currently in the Harrisonville Family Center parking lot and will roll towards Butler at 11:30 am. It will be passing through Adrian on the outer road before arriving in Butler between 12 and 12:30.
