Weather Update: Rain Late Tonight

Here's a quick look at part one of this multi-day rain event. Showers and a few thunderstorms will arrive later tonight. Rainfall amounts between 0.25" and 1" are likely for most. Prepare for a wet commute Tuesday morning!

Henry County Sheriff's Office broadcast: Stolen Truck

 
The Henry County Sheriff's Office just put out a broadcast of a stolen
2003 white GMC truck with a Missouri License Plate number
of 71A-5GA. The truck was stolen this morning from a residence in Deepwater Missouri. 
The keys were in the truck and it had a half a tank of gas.
If you have seen this vehicle please contact your local police department 

TEEN DANCE AT ELKS LODGE



 The Bates County Elk’s Lodge is sponsoring a Teen Dance on Saturday, November 2nd for students ages 10-16 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm at the Elks Lodge, 1000 Elks Drive (off W. Mill St.). Admission is $2.00 and includes a soda and hot dog. Additional refreshments are available for $1.00 per item. Teens must be signed in and are not permitted to leave until signed out by their parent. Kraft recalls string cheese that may spoil early




(AP) -Kraft Foods Group Inc. is voluntarily recalling some of its Kraft and Polly-O string cheese because they may spoil and change color before the expiration date on the packages.

The Northfield, Ill., company said Friday that about 735,000 cases of the affected products were shipped to customers in the U.S. They have "Best When Used By" dates from Oct. 25 through Feb. 11.

Kraft says it issued the recall after receiving several reports from consumers about cheese going bad. The company has ceased the production and distribution of the affected products and is investigating the problem. The affected products were made in a plant in Campbell, N.Y.

Consumers should not eat the recalled product and should return it for an exchange or refund. For more information, contact Kraft Foods Consumer Relations at 1-800-816-9432 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. (Eastern).

Street Closures In Butler



Butler Street Department will be having some street closures today for resurfacing. The streets will include Willow Street between Ft Scott and Bennett. Also Gale Lane and College Streets as well as North High Street north of Mill Street. Bates county Live will update you when the streets reopen.

BUTLER LADY BEARS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL GAMES

The Butler Bear Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Webb City on 


Thursday, October 24th and came out victorious.  Coach Shannon Gepford  stated, “This was the best match that we have played so far this year and it couldn't have come at a better time. It is also good to beat a larger school, but to do it the way we did and on Sr. Night made it that much more special for our Seniors, Gabby Blevins, Aarika Gardner, Kayla and Kiersten Morris and Alyx  Gepford.”  The final score for the first game was ...Butler Lady Bears 25, Webb City Cardinals 22 and the second game, with Butler defeating Webb City was 25 to 23.

Sight and Safety Night

 
 
Sight and Safety Night Thursday from 5-7pm on Main Street in Adrian. The Adrian Lions Club will be having their Pumpkin Contest with prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Drop Pumpkins off at their booth East of Wimfield's on Main for judging by 6pm. Also, the Adrian Chamber of Commerce will have a place for you to stop in and have pictures taken by Tera Black's Photography and Design. Tera will have a backdrop set up in front of her shop at 44 E Main. After your picture, she will give you a card with her website and the information about how to download the digital prints or order from her We hope to see you all Thursday Night
