Obituary - Neva Jessie Green
Neva Jessie Green, 83, Adrian, Missouri, died Sunday, November 24, 2013
at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday,
November 27, 2013 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian. Burial will
be in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian. Memorial contributions may be
made to Bates county Food Pantry.

SCHOWENGERDT FUNERAL CHAPEL HOLIDAY REMEMBRANCE PROGRAM

HENRY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE: Additional arrest and charges following vehicle pursuit

According to Henry
County Sheriff J. Kent Oberkrom, Deputy Zach Sebree responded to SW
Hwy HH and SW Hwy RA on a report of a suspicious vehicle and possible
theft of scrap metal at 7:30 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2013. While
attempting to arrest the driver, Randy Matthew Taylor, age 33,
Leeton, Deputy Sebree was struck in the head by stolen scrap metal
loaded on the truck.
Sgt. Mike Nelson has
continued to work the assault and theft cases and has made an
additional arrest and recovered an extensive amount of stolen
property in various areas throughout Henry and St. Clair County.
On Saturday November
23, 2013, Sgt. Mike Nelson arrested Roy Kirk, age 28 of Clinton on a
24 hour hold for burglary and stealing. Kirk, who was already on
supervised probation is being held in the Henry County Detention
Center. According to the Sheriff’s Office report, Taylor and Kirk
were working together during several of the thefts.
Taylor is also being
investigated for felony damage to jail property as he allegedly
tampered with an access panel in a jail cell since his incarceration.
Obituary - Della Yoss
Della Yoss 81, passed away Saturday November 23, 2013 at the Willow Lane Care Center in Butler.The Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of The Heuser Funeral Home of Rich Hill. The services are scheduled at 2pm Tuesday afternoon at the Rich Hill
Christian Church. The burial will follow in the Green Lawn Cemetery in Rich
Hill. The family receives friends between 5-7 Monday
evening at Heuser Funeral Home.
Vehicle Fire North Of Adrian
The Adrian Fire Department along with Missouri State Highway Patrol is on scene of a truck fire North of Adrian on I-49. The truck reportedly had a bed full of tires. No injuries reported. The fire is under control now and is out. Bates County Live will update when and if more information becomes available.
Cancelled Endangered Silver Advisory-Leonard L. Vaughn-Independence PD
The Independence Police Department has cancelled an Endangered SILVER
Advisory for a missing adult incident that occurred at 1436 South Ralston,
Independence, MO at 10:52 PM on 11/23/2013.
The endangered SILVER advisory missing adult was:
Leonard L. Vaughn, a white, male, age 79, height 5 feet 6 inches, 160 lbs,
gray hair, blue eyes, wearing black and gray sweater, plaid shirt, blue
jeans and black slippers. Unique characteristics: tattoos on knuckles
"love" and "hate" and tattoo of letter "s" on left forearm
Diagnosed Medical Condition(s): Dementia
Brief circumstances regarding the Endangered Silver Person incident:
Subject has been located and is safe.
