Weather Update: Rain Showers Continue
Rain showers will continue to lift slightly north/northwest around a low pressure system that's currently in south central Kansas. The heaviest rain band is moving a bit to the north in our area, but highest rain totals should still focus along and south of I-70 today and tonight.
Obituary - Patricia Wilson
Patricia Wilson, 68, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Monday, June 9, 2014 at her home. Funeral services are pending at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.
Obituary - Wayne A. Bentlage
Wayne A. Bentlage, 53, Greenwood, Missouri, died Thursday, June 5 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 12 at the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. The family will receive friends after the service. Private burial. (A complete obituary will be posted when available).
2014 Highways, Hogs, and Hillbillies Poker Run
Bates County folks can sign up in Butler at 9AM. If you live in Henry county or closer to Clinton, our first stop, you can sign up at Clinton at 10AM.
The Ride starts at 10AM at the Bates County Court house on June 14th,2014 $25 per vehicle / $10 per additional rider. The ride will start at 11am in Clinton.
All proceeds of this event will go the 27th Circuit Court Adult Recovery Court Program.
Clinton riders will receive there first card at sign up. Free T-shirts
are free for riders and our available for purchase as well.

West Central Warriors Playoff Game June 14th
The West Central Warriors went to Topeka to play the Thunder on Saturday June 7th and couldn't pull off a win. They
are now 8-2. The next game is Saturday June 14th @ 6 pm against the
Topeka Thunder again. This is a playoff game and we need all of the
support we can get from our fans. Come out and enjoy a hard hitting-fast
paced game. The field is located behind the Butler swimming pool. See
you there!!!
Bates County Youth Advocacy Council: Day Camp
The
Bates County Youth Advocacy Council is holding it's annual Day Camp for
youth in Bates County on Saturday, June 14th. The FREE event will be
held at the Butler City Park and starts at 8:30am and ends at 2pm.
Breakfast will be served at 8:30am, followed by swimming at the pool
from 9am-11am, lunch served from 11am-12pm, followed by park activities.
Children 1st-6th grade are invited to attend. To participate, you
MUST return the Activity Acceptance Form and the Notarized Health Form
to either the Bates County Juvenile Office or the Bates County
Children’s Division by June 6, 2014. Forms are available for pick-up at
both locations. Registration is limited to 45 children.
