Butler elementary school installs high tech sign
At a glance those passing by will be able to get informative updates from the Butler elementary school, thanks to a PTSO donation.
The new technology will mostly provide important information for parents who pick up and drop off children on Dakota street.

Obituary -Delores A. Stark

Delores Ann Stark, age 83 of Drexel, Missouri died Monday, July 27, 2015 at Adrian Manor in Adrian, Missouri. She was born November 6, 1931 to Walter Raymond and Bessie Maude Nelson Dawson in Drexel, Missouri.
Delores is survived by her husband, Bruce Stark of Drexel, Missouri; one son, Donald "Pete" Stark and wife Linda of Prescott, Kansas; two daughters, Deborah Morgan and husband, Daniel of Weston, Missouri and Tamera Motley and husband Dave of Drexel, Missouri; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Elijah Stark in 1982 and Ronald Stark in 2015; one brother, Leonard Lee Dawson and one sister Geraldine Showalter.
Nevada woman injured in Christian County Motorcycle Wreck
Nevada woman suffered moderate injuries in a one vehicle accident Saturday afternoon in Christian County. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 7:15 P.M. Saturday evening on Missouri 125, 9 miles South of Sparta, in Christian County, involving a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja Motorcycle driven by 53 year old Tamila Bobbett. The patrol says, Bobbett was traveling Northbound when she failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the roadway, and overturned. Bobbett was listed with moderate injuries and transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

Obituary - Jack Franklin Crawford
A Graveside Service for Jack F. Crawford 80, of Appleton City, Missouri will be held on Friday, July 24,
2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Appleton City Cemetery. Friends may call the Hill & Son Funeral Home prior
to service time or leave condolences online.
Officiating at the service will be Chaplain Herb Bishop. In lieu of flowers any Memorial donations are requested to be for a Family Love Fund and may be left at the funeral home.
Jack Franklin Crawford, 80, of rural Appleton City, Missouri passed away July 22, 2015 at Appleton City Manor Nursing Home. Jack was born August 10, 1934 in Peculiar, Missouri the son of William Franklin and Eva G. (Rippee) Crawford.
The family lived in the Kansas City area where Jack spent several years of his youth. They moved to Roscoe and then to Warsaw, Missouri where Jack graduated from Warsaw High School in 1953.
Following graduation, Jack moved to Wichita, Kansas where he lived and was employed by Boeing for about 10 years. He moved to Harrisonville, Missouri where he was employed by Michael Baker International traveling around the U.S. as a field engineer. During that time he did some consulting for AT&T in Mississippi. Jack was united in marriage to Sharon Kaye Flatt August 28, 1971 at the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville. They remained in Harrisonville until Jack’s retirement in 1993 when they moved to a home in rural Appleton City to enjoy the country life.
Jack enjoyed hunting rabbits, squirrels and deer in his younger days and also liked fishing at Truman Lake. He enjoyed using his computer especially keeping in touch with family and friends

Preceding Jack in death were his parents and all of his brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of the home; his children, Jack Franklin Crawford, Jr. (Gail) of Marshall, Missouri, Linda “Shelly” Crawford of Davenport, Florida, Nijuana Jones (Todd) of Florida, Tiffany Barnett (Robert) of Cameron, Missouri; a step-daughter, Danielle Kroska (Tony) of Lathrop, Missouri; and Maxie, The Wonderdog.

Bates County Sheriffs Office: Search Warrant Served In Passaic
On
7/14/15, Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of
Drug and Crime Control, Bates County Sheriff’s Office and CNET Drug
Taskforce executed a search warrant at 6870 NE Business 49 Loop,
Butler Mo 64730 (Passaic).
Numerous
illegal items were seized to include Methamphetamine, Marijuana,
cocaine, prescription medication, US Currency and numerous weapons.
The search warrant was obtained from a joint investigation into the
distribution of illegal narcotics from that residence. During the
execution of the search warrant two female subjects were detained and
later released pending charges.
This
case is still on ongoing investigation and charges will be reviewed
by the Bates County Prosecutor when complete.
