Obituary - Della Louise (Manning) Morris

Della Louise (Manning) Morris
Della Louise (Manning) Morris of Blue Mound lost her battle to Leukemia and went to be with her Lord on February 21, 2017. She was born on June 24, 1943 in De Queen, Arkansas and was the oldest of four girls born to Elmer and Elrene (Flood) Manning. 

She was married to Robert Morris in march of 1979. She, along with her husband, were avid OTR drivers and together the crossed the U.S. many times in their 15 year career. In 1990 she and her family relocated to Blue Mound where she became an active member in her church and community, volunteering whenever and however she could. Her and her husband retired from OTR driving in 1997 and she quickly found her passion for helping others, which she carried until her end. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters Martha, Nona, and (Alma) Ruth. She is survived by her husband Robert (of the home), son Paul Moeller of Blue Mound, daughter Keeko Moeller of Blue Mound, son Richard Moeller and wife Tammy of Leavenworth and son Tod Moeller of Blue Mound. 

She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephew and countless others. Hers is a spirit that has touched many lives and is one that will be greatly missed by all those who love her.

One injured in Vernon County crash

On 2/25/17 around 3:19pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a one vehicle rollover accident in the Northbound Lanes of I-49 around 1 mile North of Sheldon, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2002 Oldsmobile Alero driven by 22 year old Felisha M. Selbe of Joplin, Missouri ran off the left side of the roadway, crossed the median then went off the West side of I-49, struck a embankment and overturned.

Felisha M. Selbe sustained moderate injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Garwood's Wrecker Service of Nevada, Missouri.

Obituary - Donald Lee Blancett

Donald Lee Blancett
Donald Lee Blancett, 88, passed away February 23,2017.

He was born on September 10, 1928 in Pittsburg, Kansas to the late, James and Jennie (Calso) Blancett. He served in the Military during the Korean War. Don was a Radiologic Technologist and worked at hospitals in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Chicago, Illinois, Fort Lauderdale, Florida and the Kansas City area.
Don married Sue Hill on August 3, 1968 in Roeland Park, Kansas. They spent most of their life together in Overland Park, Kansas. He was active in the American Legion and the Forty and Eight until they moved to Anderson, Missouri in 2002. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, the Boy Scouts, his flea market booths and spending time with family and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Blancett; his brother, Robert Blancett and his sister, Lorene Adams.

Don is survived by his wife, Sue Blancett; a son, Lee Blancett and wife, Connie of Butler, Missouri; a daughter, Lou Ann Blancett of Sheldon, Missouri; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. His enthusiasm and big bear hugs will be greatly missed by all.

Graveside services are pending.














 

St. Clair County police chase ends in Southern Bates County

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office just ended a police chase with a silver in color Dodge Avenger around the area B Highway and P Highway in rural Southeast Bates County.

During this chase speeds reached over 100mph and one subject was arrested and taken into police custody.

Obituary - Clifford DeWayne Benbrook

Clifford DeWayne Benbrook
Clifford DeWayne Benbrook, age 45, Paola, Kansas formerly of Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2019 at the Miami County Medical Center. He was born on June 30, 1971 at Butler, Missouri the son of Jerry and Fay McCulley Benbrook. 

He graduated from Pleasanton High School in the Class of 1990. He married Theresa Latta on November 22, 1999 at Pleasanton. He was working at Paola WalMart as a shipping and receiving manager, being employed there sixteen years. Clifford loved his family and enjoyed time playing with the kids. He liked to camp, fish, and hunt deer and hogs. 

He is survived by his wife, Theresa, parents, Jerry Benbrook and Fay Benbrook, sons, Billy and Cristian Benbrook, and Brandon Jones, two daughters, Tiffany Jones and Jessica Stark, a brother Quentin Ramsey, sister, Cristin Fuller, six grandchildren, an aunt, Kay Phillipson, a niece, Hailie Fulller and two nephews, Xander Fuller and Little Quentin Ramsey.

Funeral service will be held 7 pm Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Schneider Funeral Home, Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7 pm before the service.

Obituary - Robert Lee Robbins Sr.

Robert Lee Robbins Sr. age 91, of Clinton, Missouri passed away, Friday, February, 24th, 2017 at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Missouri. Funeral Services  will be held, Tuesday, February, 28th, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton. 

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm , Monday at the chapel. Burial will be in the Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. Memorial contributions can be made to the Henry County Memory Fund and can be left in care of the funeral home.

Robert was born October 10th, 1925 in Hortense, Missouri to Rolla and Edith (Greeson) Robbins, Robert owned and operated R and L Radio from many years on the Clinton Square before retiring. He also loved to farm in still free time. Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and his fist wife, Mary H. Robbins.

Survivors include his wife Mary L. (Moree) Robbins of the home, son Robert Robbins Jr. and wife Pamela of Clinton. Daughter Linda Miller and husband Marvin of Warrensburg. Step-Daughters Mary Beth Norman and husband Jerry, of Olathe, KS, and Becky Reser and husband Ron of Branson, MO. Grandchildren Marva Miller, Daniel Vaughn, Jacob Miller, Samuel Miller, and Robin Beach. Step-Granddaughter Bethany (Waugh) Istas Great-Grandchildren Taylor Miller, Jacob Carter, Kayla Miller, Kyla Miller, Eljah Miller, and Trinity Miller. Step-Great-Granddaughter Bray Istas
