Obituary - John Kampe
John William Kampe, age 61, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at his home in Clinton, Missouri. John's wishes were to be cremated. There are no services at this time.
John William Kampe was born on May 14, 1961 in Clinton, Missouri to Cecil and Catherine (James) Kampe.
John loved working in theaters, he started at the age of 16 at Crest Theater and spent his whole life in movie theaters all over the U.S.. His passion was his dogs Michonne and Roger. He loved spending times with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his brother Jerry “Kelley” Kampe.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.

Obituary - Bonnie Crook
Bonnie Crook, age 81, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022 in her sleep from complication caused by the advanced stages of dementia.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am on January 14th, 2023 at the Valhalla Funeral Chapel 7600 St Charles Rock Road St Louis Mo 63133.
Bonnie Garnett Crook was born on June 23, 1941 in Davisville, Missouri to Esco and Yula Pyatt.
Bonnie was a beloved Mother, and Grandmother. She loved spending time with everyone. Even in her advanced stage of dementia she would smile as to say I know who you are when they would walk into her room. She also like sewing and making clothing as well as household items. She liked gardening and loved taking care of her flowers.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nathan Crook, and five siblings James Pyatt, Charles Pyatt, Eugene Pyatt, Elsie Ahner, and Betty Reno.
Survivors include her three children; Alan (and Angela) Crook, Eric S Crook, Bonita (and Tommy) Harrison, 9 grandchildren; Justin (Lyndis) Crook, Jessica (Michael) Jones, Melissa (Brandon) Stone, Kayla Ellis, Daniel Harrison, Tyler (Sarah) Harrison, Hollie (Robert) Bidwell, Eric Crook, Cheryl Akins, 15 great grandchildren; Anmie Barton, Jack Crook, Lynlee Crook, Connor Jones, Benjamin Jones, Kaydence Harrison, Conner Stone, Ryleigh Ellis, Abigail Rece, Hannah Leach, Mason Harrison, Olivia Harrison, Michael Burnett, Riley Labee, Bryce Huber, 2 great-great grandchildren; Dustin Burnett, Sayge Burnett, and 3 siblings; Easter Baughman, Harry Pyatt, Vencil Pyatt.

Obituary - Ellen Marie Smith
Ellen Marie (Pritchett) Smith passed from her earthly home on December 23, 2022 near Nevada. She was born on July 4, 1954 in El Dorado Springs, MO to Delbert L. (Pete) Pritchett and Thelma L. (Blagg) Pritchett. Ellen was raised mainly in Vernon County and attended school in Bronaugh. She loved all animals and enjoyed riding her horses.
Ellen married C.J. Smith on February 5, 1975 in St. Louis, MO and to this union was born a baby girl, Destiny. C.J., Ellen, and Destiny spent a great amount of time traveling by motorcycle throughout the country before returning to Vernon County in 1987. After returning to Vernon County, Ellen worked in the accounting department of Nevada City Hospital and later enjoyed cleaning office buildings until her retirement. Ellen was a kind soul and spent much of her time caring for her animals and her home.
Ellen was preceded in death by her loving husband C.J., mother, infant brother, grandparents, and many fur babies. Ellen is survived by her daughter, Destiny Connelly (Tracy) of Nevada; father, Delbert Pritchett of Moundville; sister, Angie Modlin (Paul) of Moundville; brother, Dale Pritchett (Lori) of Topeka, KS; and step-son, Charles H. Estes (Peggy) of Park Hills, MO. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, fur babies, and caring friends.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Dale Pritchett officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

Gregory Gene Pryor, 59, of Nevada passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at his home following a lengthy illness. Greg was born on December 17, 1963 in Nevada to James and Beverly (Crump) Pryor.
Greg was raised in Nevada and attended Nevada High School. He worked for C.B.I. for over 20 years working all over the United States and numerous other countries painting water towers. Greg enjoyed playing pool, drawing and painting and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Greg was known for his easy going personality and had many friends.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine of Nevada, three children, Aaron Moore of Nevada, Adam Pryor (Alisha), of Nevada, and Whitney Cagle of Nevada, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren, two brothers, James Pryor d Doug Pryor, both of Nevada, Susie Pritchett (Randy) of Nevada, and his special friend, Tina Anderson of Nevada, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Eric Pryor, two brothers, Steve Pryor and Tracy Pryor, and an infant sister, Karen Pryor.

Dr. Robert L. "Bob" Strobach, 84 of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away December 26, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Friday, December 30, 2022 at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church (130 NW Murray Road, Lee's Summit, Missouri 64081) with Rev. Tom Holder officiating.
Visitation will be from 10-11am prior to Mass at the church. Private family inurnment will be in Lee's Summit Historical Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Giving Fore Living or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Obituary - Ronnie Roe Greenway
Ronnie Roe Greenway, formerly of Nevada, was called to his heavenly home on December 26, 2022. Ronnie was born on August 31, 1944 to Alvin and Blanche (Hemphill) Greenway in McDowell, Missouri. Ronnie’s family moved to Verona, Missouri as a young boy where he met and grew up with the love of his life Kay McRoberts.
Ronnie was a star athlete at Verona High School where he excelled in Basketball and graduated in 1962. Ronnie and Kay were united in marriage on October 19, 1963 and to this union two daughters were born, Melinda in 1967 and Donna in 1968.
Following graduation from Verona High School, Ronnie attended Drury College in Springfield, MO where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion in 1967.
Following graduation Ronnie entered the ministry in Sarcoxie, MO for almost three years followed by an area executive role with the Boy Scouts of America in Savannah, MO.
Ronnie, Kay, and family moved to Nevada, MO in 1972 where he began a long career as Chief Juvenile Officer for a four-county area of Southwest Missouri. Ronnie retired from the State of Missouri in the early 2000’s and worked part time in various roles around Nevada for several years.
Ronnie loved the outdoors and enjoyed many duck hunts with Judge Kelso and friends around the Marmaton River. Ronnie was also an avid fly fisherman and spent many relaxing hours tying his own flies and fishing with his brothers-in-law. He took great joy later in life taking his granddaughters to Roaring River where he spent many summer days teaching them how to fly fish.
Ronnie was a devoted Christian man of faith and served many years as an Elder leader of the First Christian Church of Nevada.
Ronnie and Kay have lived in Overland Park, KS for the last several years so they could be closer to family where they enjoyed attending their granddaughters school activities and sporting events.
Survivors of Ronnie include his wife Kay who resides at their home in Overland Park, KS, daughter Melinda Cripps and her husband, John of Kearney, MO, daughter, Donna Scotten and her husband Carl of Overland Park, KS, along with two granddaughters that were his pride and joy, Alaina Scotten, and Hannah Simeroth and her husband Jeff, all of Overland Park; and one sister, Beverly Allen and her husband, Phil of the Dallas area.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Roger Beach officiating. Interment will follow in Spring River Cemetery in Verona, MO. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
