Briscoe Lodge fire being investigated as arson..

Shortly before 8:30 p.m. on December 25th the Butler Fire Department, Butler Police Department and Adrian Fire Department responded to a fully engulfed structure fire at 702 Page Street in Butler.

When crews arrived on scene they found fire contained in a back room inside the Briscoe Lodge building in Douglas Park.

Due to the construction of the building, fire crews were unable to control the fire without losing the roof. The back door of the lodge had been kicked in and it is being investigated as  possible arson.

If anyone has any information on this incident please contact the Butler Police Department at 660-679-6131.

Chilly with chances for snow

Intermittent snow showers are likely today through tomorrow. Minor accumulations are possible, mainly on grassy surfaces as temps should mostly remain near or a couple degrees above freezing.

Roads could become slick during times of sub-freezing temps or if snow rates are heavy enough to overcome the warmer concrete temperatures.

Another item to note is that it is possible that you could be driving in an area with no snow and good visibility, but then be impacted by a moderate snow shower that abruptly drops visibility. Be careful out there!
