Obituary - Everett Elmer Wilson Jr.

Everett Elmer Wilson Jr., 78, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away on March 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born and raised in Cass County, Missouri, Everett was a proud lifelong resident of the community he loved. He spent many years working in construction and later dedicated 25 years of service to the City of Harrisonville before retiring. Alongside his professional life, Everett owned and cared for a 160-acre farm outside rural Archie, where he found enjoyment in the chaotic rhythms of country living.

Everett enjoyed the simple things in life—being outdoors, gardening, going to the lake, and “piddling around” outside. Whether tending to his garden or spending time with family, he found joy in every moment. He was a devoted husband, father, “Pops,” and “Papa,” who showed his love through steadfast support and quiet strength. His grandchildren have cherished memories of time spent with him and Jan, often finding any excuse to visit their home.

Preceded in death by Everett Elmer Wilson Sr. and Mary Anna Lawrence Wilson and is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Janice Wilson; his siblings: Lawrence and Louise Wilson, Shawn and Gina Wilson, and Chash and Mark Giovenco; his children: Steve Wilson and Dede Vest, Heather and Kayla Wilson, Ronnie and Susan Arnold and family, and Mike Arnold and Emily Allsop-Arnold; and his grandchildren: Shannon and John Jeffries, Nathan Vest, Zachary and Kayla Bundt, Tyler and Abigail Bundt, Morgan and Patrick Mason, Mandi Bundt, Jaelynne and Josh Morey, Jacki Bundt, Kolby and Sierra Arnold, Harlee Arnold, Ryann Arnold, and Colin Arnold.

He was also a proud great-grandfather to Grace and Charlotte Mason, Warren and Gwendolyn Vest, and Walker Bundt.

Everett leaves behind a large and loving extended family of nieces and nephews, including Christie Rogers, Gabrielle Miller, Elizabeth Wilson, McKenna Brooks, Madison Giovenco, Emma Giovenco, Joshua Wilson, and Levi Wilson.

Everett’s legacy is one of love, simplicity, and unwavering support. His gentle presence and quiet wisdom touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten.

Cremation with a celebration of life visitation will be held 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
