Obituary - LeRoy Dean Pollard
LeRoy was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 3, 1943, to the late Dorothy Marie Pollard. He attended and graduated from Benton High School in St. Joseph, Missouri. LeRoy joined the Marines as a machine gunner on June 16, 1960, and earned the rank of Corporal. After honorably discharging from the Marines, LeRoy spent his years driving a truck for Consolidated Freightways from which he retired. While at Consolidated Freightways, LeRoy joined the Teamsters and actively took part in membership. To know LeRoy was to know he had a quick wit and dry sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy and daughter Michelle Bond.
LeRoy is survived by his sons, John (Jacqueline) Rupert, Todd Pollard and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends to celebrate LeRoy of life from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Monday, April 7, 2025 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, Missouri.

Obituary - Ralph Mayfield
Ralph Mayfield, 93, of Drexel, Missouri passed away March 29, 2025 at Foxwood Springs in Raymore, Missouri. Memorial graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, June 22, 2025 in Sharon Cemetery, Drexel. Services under the direction of Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009). Ralph William Mayfield was born October 4, 1931 in Rosston, Oklahoma to Floyd and Letha Mayfield.
He was raised in Burdette, Missouri with his 8 brothers and sisters. He joined the United States Airforce in 1955, playing on the US Air Force baseball team until 1960. Ralph was united in marriage to Christine Silver in 1961 and raised five children. He loved fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his children, 11 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 1 sister and many nieces and nephews.

The Bears took a short trip north to Archie for the only high school meet that we will compete in there before Archie hosts sectionals later in May. The weather wasn’t quite as nice as it was last week for our home meet and the marks were down slightly, but compared to the athletes at the other 23 schools that attended, the Bears did not disappoint and wound up bringing home 11 medals (5 gold) with 10 personal records.
