Obituary - Wayne Warren Fode

Wayne Warren Fode, age 89 of Ozark, MO passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026.

     Wayne was born September 18, 1936, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, to Gotthelf and Emelia (Laux) Fode. He had a lifetime career in freight traffic and transportation with extensive experience in various aspects of the transportation industry in Canada. After relocating to Southern California, he continued his career in trucking and freight forwarding. He worked as a salesman for Bullet Freight Services, in Los Angeles, CA, then served as the Western Regional Sales Manager until his retirement. After retiring, he continued as a consulting agent for the company.

     On March 18, 1989, he married Janie McGehee of Nevada, Missouri. They lived in Anaheim Hills, California until retiring to Ozark, MO in 2004.

     Wayne is survived by his wife, Janie Fode; two sons, Brent Fode, Los Angeles, CA and Scott Fode, Ozark, MO; three step-daughters, Cindy Swisher, Lake Ozark, MO, Lisa Jajko, Ozark, MO and Jamie Patrick, Branson, MO; two sisters, Joy St. Amand, and Hope Woods, both of Montreal, Canada; nieces and nephews, Patrick, Terry, Jamie, Katherine, Victoria, and Tracy; grandchildren, Ashley, Chelsea, Baylee, Nikki, Sam, Aaron, Katie, Maddie, Addison, and Sydney; as well as several great-nieces and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathy Perret.

       A graveside service will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Newton Burial Park in Nevada, MO.

Obituary - Billie Lee Dick

Billie Lee Dick, age 96 formerly of Mound City, Kansas passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026.  Full obituary will follow soon.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Mound City First Baptist Church.  Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time.  Burial will be at 10:00 am, Friday in the Leavenworth National Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to the Mound City First Baptist Church and may be sent in care of the Schneider Funeral Home P.O. Robert Hutchinson, 68 of Stilwell, Kansas passed away January 30, 2026 at Research Medical Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Important notice from the City of Archie

NOTICE: On Monday, February 9, beginning at 7:30AM, the City of Archie Water Department will be doing a whole town shut down of water service to make the 2nd tie-in on the new water main at Jefferson Street & Chestnut Street. Pine Street will be down to one lane while the work is being done. Water service will be brought back up as soon as possible.

The Water Department also anticipates doing the last shut down for the final tie-in on this water main on Monday, February 16. Another notice will be posted closer to that dat. Thank you for your patience while this work is completed. We are one step closer to being able to isolate smaller portion of the City when doing water line repairs and replacements.
