Possibly three inches of rain by end of the weekend

Total rainfall is pretty hard to predict when multiple rounds of thunderstorms are involved.

One area could receive repeated storms & heavy downpours (training) while another area just gets light & scattered stuff.

But overall, it's reasonable to expect more than three inches widespread through Saturday evening of this week.

Blackhawks Rally Past Warsaw for Key Conference Win

Adrian baseball picked up a big early conference win over the Warsaw Wildcats on Tuesday, March 24.

The Blackhawks found themselves in an early hole as Warsaw struck first in the opening inning, taking a 1-0 lead. Adrian answered in the top of the third, plating a run of their own to tie the game. However, the Wildcats responded immediately in the bottom half of the inning, reclaiming control with a 4-1 advantage.

Warsaw added another run in the fourth, extending the lead to 5-1 — a margin that began to feel comfortable for the home team.

But Adrian had other plans.

The Blackhawks showed resilience in the late innings, beginning their push in the fifth. Hubbard delivered a key RBI single that brought in two runs, and just a few batters later, Underwood added a sacrifice fly to bring Hubbard home. After five innings, Adrian had trimmed the deficit to 6-4.

In the sixth, Adrian’s offense broke through in a big way. The Blackhawks put together a four-run inning to take their first lead of the game at 8-6.

That score would hold, as Adrian completed the comeback victory over their Ozark Highlands Conference opponent.

Kobe Enos led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a triple and an RBI. Elijah Hubbard finished 2-for-5 and drove in a game-high four RBIs. Lile, Talley, and Vandenberg each added a hit for Adrian.

Davidson Breaks Decades-old Butler JH Record in Hurdles

Butler junior high track and field athlete Cam Davidson turned in a historic performance, breaking the school record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.22.

Davidson’s mark surpasses one of the longest-standing records in Butler history, previously set by Pat Ray in 1977 at 15.90. The record had stood for nearly five decades before being eclipsed.

“To be honest, I didn’t know it was a 50-year-old record, so it was really cool to break it,” Davidson said. “I’ve been told Pat Ray was a great athlete by many people.”

Davidson credited his improvement to consistent work and a growing passion for the event.

“It was a lot of fun putting in the extra work, and I’ve made a lot of progress since I first started running the hurdles,” he said. “I really enjoy running them and have fun doing it.”

While the record came early in the season, Davidson had confidence it was within reach.

“I had a good feeling I could break it this season, but didn’t know if it would be the first meet,” he said.

Now, with the record in hand, Davidson has his sights set even higher.

“My goal from here is to get my time below 15 seconds this year,” he said. “And in high school, I want to break my brother’s record in the 110-meter hurdles my freshman or sophomore year.”

With both a record and bigger goals ahead, Davidson has quickly made his mark — and may just be getting started.
