Obituary - Sherry Moore

Sherry Denise Moore, of Maud, OK, passed away on December 28, 2025, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Shawnee, OK. The graveside service will be held on April 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian, MO. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Adrian Christian Church, with a note for the youth group.

Sherry was born on October 31, 1954, to John C. and Darlene Greenwell in El Paso, where John C. was stationed while serving in the United States Army. At 5 months old, Sherry would take her first airplane ride alongside her mother, Darlene, to Frankfurt, Germany, where John C. had been stationed.

A short time later, Sherry would return to Adrian, MO, where she would call home for her formative years, graduating from Adrian High School in 1972. Sherry moved from the Kansas City area to Oklahoma City in 1991, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma. She spent her career over the years in various facilities helping and caring for so many others. Sherry was always known for being so kind and caring.

She was a free-spirited soul with an absolutely huge heart, so full of love! Sherry was an amazing Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She always let you feel her joy and love in every moment with her, and she will be very dearly missed by all of us who knew her.

Preceded in death by her father, John C. Greenwell; husband, Danny Ray Moore. Sherry is survived by her son, Dustin (Michelle) Hastings, of Norman, OK, their children, Greyson and Blake); son, Weston Moore of Shawnee, OK; Step-son Joey (Tessa) Moore of Grain Valley, MO and their children, Merrilyn and Ryker; step-daughter, Anna (Brandon) Byrd of Kansas City, MO, and their child Deacon; mother, Darelene Greenwell of Adrian, MO; sister, Jonna (John "Bufe") Petty of Adrian, MO; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends.

Funeral services for Reda Ann Cumpton of Adrian, Missouri will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2026 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri. Visitation prior to services 10 - 11 a.m. Monday at the Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler. Online condolences www.schowengerdtchapel.com.

Shaping Our Future at McEowen Elementary

Prop One, a zero tax rate increase bond issue, will include an addition of four classrooms, plus restrooms, along with a parking lot at McEowen Elementary School. With the move to 3rd-5th grade building, future increases in enrollment will stretch the capacity of McEowen.

5 Butler students make the cut for Clinton Beginning Band Honor Band


Butler 6th grade band students had the opportunity to audition for the Clinton Beginning Band Honor Band, an honor ensemble created for first-year band students
To prepare, students learned three pieces of music and worked with Ms. Carrie Epperson, a middle school band director in the Liberty School District. More than 200 students auditioned, and Butler had 5 students selected for the group. Students from over 18 schools were represented.
Last night, these students gave a tremendous performance at Clinton High School. We are very proud of their hard work and accomplishment.
