Butler Resident Layne Aaron Anderson Inducted into the Sons of the American Revolution

Warrensburg, MO – Layne Aaron Anderson was officially inducted as a new member of the Martin Warren Chapter of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) during a ceremony held on September 19, 2026, at the Johnson County Historical Society Complex in Warrensburg.

The Sons of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and maintaining historical education.  Members must prove lineal descent from an ancestor who aided the cause of American Independence during the Revolutionary War.

Anderson qualified for membership by tracing his lineage back to Patriot William Griffith who served as a Sergeant in the Virginia Regiment of Guards during the war.

During the induction ceremony, Anderson took the SAR oath and received his official membership certificate and rosette pin.

Butler Bears Blow Out Sherwood Marksmen on Homecoming

The Butler Bears hosted the Sherwood Marksmen in the 2026 Homecoming game tonight. The game was really not close, with the Butler Bears leading 28-0 at half. The Bears continued their dominating streak winning the game 54-16. The Bears are now 4-2 and will be at home next week against the Warsaw Wildcats on October 9th, at 7:00 p.m.

Rich Hill police make arrest following domestic assault call


On October 1st, Officers along with Bates County Deputies responded to a residence in Rich Hill in reference to a domestic assault.
After investigation from Rich Hill Police and Bates County Sheriff's Office, one subject was taken into custody.
The subject was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Bates County Jail.
Charges were submitted to the Bates County Prosecuting Attorney.
A warrant was issued for Corey Eubanks $25,000 cash or surety for Domestic Assault 3rd degree class E felony, Domestic Assault in the 4th degree class A misdemeanor.
I want to thank the Bates County Sheriff's Office for all their help.
