Fleeing suspect arrested following struggle with deputies in Windsor

October 29, 2026 | Windsor, Missouri
Henry County Sheriff Aaron Brown reports that on October 29, at approximately 9:08 a.m., Deputy Aidin Hinkle attempted to contact 𝐃𝐚𝐤𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐡 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭, age 32, of Calhoun, in the 500 block of South Franklin Street in Windsor. Yount was being sought in connection with an ongoing felony burglary investigation initiated on October 27.
According to the investigation, Yount allegedly provided a false name before entering a residence and subsequently fleeing on foot through the surrounding neighborhood.
Deputy Hinkle, Corporal Cameron Evans, and Deputy James Saulters began searching the area. Deputy Saulters located Yount allegedly hiding beneath bushes near a fence in the 500 block of South Tebo Street.
When confronted, Yount allegedly failed to comply with commands and physically resisted Deputy Saulters' attempts to take him into custody. During the struggle, Corporal Evans arrived and observed Yount with an arm around Deputy Saulters' head and neck in what was described as a headlock.
Corporal Evans deployed his department-issued Taser to assist in gaining control of Yount. Deputy Hinkle also arrived to assist, and Yount was subsequently taken into custody.
Following the investigation, Sergeant Kubilus submitted a probable cause statement to the Henry County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
On October 29, 2026, the 27th Judicial Circuit Court issued an arrest warrant charging Dakodah Rain Yount with the felony offense of Resisting Arrest/Detention/Stop by Fleeing.
The court ordered Yount to be held without bond pending trial.
We recognize Deputy Hinkle, Corporal Evans, Deputy Saulters, and Sergeant Kubilus for their efforts in locating, apprehending, and investigating this incident.
All persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
