Ram Rodeo Series Saddles Up In Butler‏


It’s time to throw on your belt, hat and boots, and get ready to explore your cowboy roots! The Ram Rodeo Series is riding into Reno from June 14th-16th at 8:00pm nightly, taking place at the Butler Saddle Club Arena, Bates County Fair Grounds, East Nursery St., to sponsor the Max Motors Rodeo.

Besides checking out the newest models of the 2013 Ram pickup trucks such as the Ram 1500, visit the Ram Truck brand to be entered into the 2013 Ram Rodeo National Sweepstakes for a chance to win$45,000 toward any eligible Chrysler Group vehicle.

Obituary - Richard "Dick" Sutton

Funeral services for Richard "Dick" Sutton will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Pastor John Magoffin officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel with Masonic services at 7 p.m. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Contributions to R.A. Bloch Cancer Foundation or Butler Alumni Association.

Richard Charles Sutton, age 62 of Butler, Missouri, died Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Willow Lane Nursing Center in Butler. 

He was born November 28, 1950 to Elmer Ellsworth and Mary Lou Tucker Sutton.Dick is survived by his wife, Candace Sutton of Butler, Missouri; a son, Eric Sutton and wife Nancy of Butler, Missouri; two daughters, Shandra Miller and husband Steven of Raymore, Missouri and Carin Saverino and husband Joe of Lee's Summit, Missouri; a brother, Larry Sutton of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters Nita Cook of Bentonville, Arkansas, Tish Foster and husband Larry of Butler, Missouri and Becky Sutton of Raytown, Missouri; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Edi Dixon.

Ballard Elementary Girls Basketball Camp

This past week fourteen elementary girls participated in a two day basketball camp. The camp focused on individual skills and having fun while playing basketball. ADRIAN MAIN STREET FESTIVAL AND CAR SHOW/EVENT JUNE 15


The Adrian Main Street Festival and Car Show will be on June 15th from 3-8PM. There will be free parking and admission. There will also me lots of fabulous vendors, a farmers market, downtown restaurant and merchant sidewalk sales and specials, food concessions, and lots of raffle prizes.
RJAYS Speed Shop and Elks Car Show will be open to any make or model car. Pre-Registration for the car show will be $10 and it will be $15 the day of the show.

BATES COUNTY HOSPITAL AUXILLIAR FUNDRAISER JEWELRY SALE/EVENT JUNE 12


The Bates County Hospital will be having an Auxiliary Fundraiser $6 Jewelry Sale. It will be on Wednesday June 12 from 7AM – 4PM in the Bates County Memorial Hospital Lobby. The public is welcome. They will be accepting cash, checks, and credit cards. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund for Bates County students going into the medical field.
