Vernon County Youth Fair Rodeo


Accident on I-49 Business Loop just South of Butler




Missouri State Highway patrol along with Bates County Sheriff and Bates County EMS are on scene of a one vehicle accident on the Business 49 loop (Deems farm equipment). No reports of injuries. Bates County Live will update this when more information becomes available.

BUTLER SADDLE CLUB RODEO


The 61st Annual Butler Saddle Club Ram Rodeo Series sponsored by Max Motors of Butler will be June 14th 15th and 16th at the Bates County Fairgrounds in Butler. The 2013 stock contractor, “ is Barnes and Sons” ! There will be 3 big nights of Rodeo with the gates opening   at 7 pm nightly.
The traditional “ Mutton Bustin”,  will kick off the rodeo at 7 pm followed by the Wild Horse Race and the main events.
There will be a Saturday night dance at 9 pm! Those attending will enjoy the live band ! “ Distant Kin” with the admission cost of 5 dollars per person.
 The Saturday Night Rodeo will feature the Butler Saddle Club Flag Girls as they perform a flag routine following the Saturday night Bull Riding Event
During the Sunday night rodeo the Queen and Princess will be crowned!
Admission tickets are for sale from Rodeo Queen Candidate Bailey Heckadon at a discount price. The admission at the gate will be ten dollars.

Appleton City Pool Opening


The Appleton City Swimming Pool will be opeing Saturday June 1st at 1p.m (weather permitting). The hours will be 1p.m. to 6p.m. daily. Admission is $3 for 4 years and up. 3 and under are free. Wednesday and Sundays will be Dollar Days! Pool Passes are available. Call the Pool and ask about prices. 660/476-2156.  Swim Lessons will be held June 10th-14th. Call the pool for prices and times.

APPLETON CITY NEWS

St. Clair County Route H at the Osage River south of Taberville closed Tuesday, May 28, to allow crews to make major repairs to the bridge, the Missouri Department of Transportation said. The Osage River Bridge could remain closed until mid-August. Contractor crews will remove the bridge deck (the surface that vehicles use to drive cross the bridge) and replace it. No official detour is signed.

Obituary - Albert Francis McNutt

Albert Francis McNutt, 80, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, formerly of Adrian, Missouri, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian with Masonic services at 8:00. Contributions may be made to charity of choice. (A complete obituary will be posted when available).
