Weather Update: Possible Storms This Afternoon For Bates County

It Feels like the movie Groundhog Day where things just keep repeating over and over. Today will start a lot like yesterday...showers and thunderstorms moving in this morning. We may see a little redevelopment this afternoon or evening, but storms are not expected to be severe. We'll then dry out for the remainder of the work week before we see a return of storms for the weekend. Yep, we said it. Rain this weekend. If you don't like the forecast, remember, we're in the business of prediction, not production.

Weather Update: Slight Risk For Severe Weather This Evening

While scattered showers and thunderstorms have prevented much in the way of a warmup today, skies have slowly cleared over portions of northern Kansas and northwestern Missouri this afternoon ahead of a cold front moving in from the northwest. A few scattered thunderstorms may redevelop along this boundary late this afternoon and early this evening. While widespread severe weather is not expected, a few stronger storms capable of hail and gusty winds will be possible. Additional thunderstorms may be possible over western Kansas this evening, and this activity may track across southern Kansas and northern Oklahoma overnight.

Osage Valley Update

We are currently experiencing an outage on our Gaines substation east of Clinton. Crews are working on the problem. No details yet on what the problem is or how long it will be. I Will give you an up date as soon as I have more information.
