Sign-ups for Safety Village will be held on Sunday, June 21st at the Old Butler High School from 5 – 7pm and is for children that are 4 and 5 years of age. Parents are encouraged to bring their participating child so they may meet their teen leaders and take a tour of Safety Village as well as filling out the appropriate paper work.Safety Village will begin on Monday, June 22nd and will run through Friday, June 26th. Two sessions will be held this year, morning sessions will be from 9am until noon and the afternoon sessions will be held from 1 – 4pm.
Safety Village is a program that focuses on teaching safety to 4 and 5 year olds. It’s a week long program that is filled with activities to make learning safety objectives fun while they are learning.
Children participating are put in small groups of two or three and then assigned to a responsible teen helper. Each day offers stations of snacks, coloring and crafts, videos, role playing, and “driving” around Safety Village.
