Nancy Lou Jones, age 65 of Butler, Missouri died Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler. She was born April 16, 1960 to Ted L. and Barbara Jean Smith Jones in Nevada, Missouri.

Nancy, one of three children, grew up in Amoret, Missouri. She graduated from Miami High School in 1978, then moved to Independence, Missouri where she lived until 2010. From Independence, Nancy moved to Passaic, Missouri for a short time before making a permanent home in Butler. She married Ivan L. Jones and was the proud mother to two daughters. Her first job as an over the road truck driver took her all over the continental United States. Nancy then spent some time as a bartender, a limo driver and her favorite job–as a homemaker.

Nancy was a free spirit. She lived her life unapologetically–was known not only to give people a piece of her mind but to also give sage advice and wisdom. As the life of the party, Nancy always made sure that everyone had a good time, bringing laughter and spontaneity to any party she attended. She had a love for her family, making sure they had a warm place to stay, escape to for quiet, or go for advice. She will be remembered with gratitude, admiration and love by all who were lucky enough to have known her.

Nancy is survived by two daughters, Sonya Jean Wisdom and husband Justin of Butler, Missouri and Jessica Townsend and husband Matt of Peculiar, Missouri; three grandchildren, Hailey Allen and husband Courtney, Jaden Heckadon and significant other Darcy and Frazion Wisdom all of Butler, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, Savannah Roderick, Tariq Allen, Kingsten Allen and Amelia Jo Lynn Allen; and one brother, Gerald L. Jones of Butler, Missouri. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan Jones (3/15/2016); and one brother, Harold Jones.
