Female arrested for meth at Butler City Lake

On July 13, 2016 a Deputy from the Bates County Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle/pedestrian check on a female who was slumped over in the front seat of a passenger car that was parked at Butler City Lake. 

The Deputy knocked on the window in an attempt to wake up the subject. The Deputy observed a lid on the center console that contained a white crystal substance that was in plain view. He also observed a plastic bag that had a white substance in it. The subject eventually woke up and was very confused and disorientated. 

The subject told the Deputy that she had been doing meth at the lake and had fell asleep for a couple of hours. The Deputy placed the subject under arrest. 

The Deputy searched the vehicle and located several baggies that had substances in them that field tested positive for methamphetamine. The Deputy also located several pipes that were used for smoking methamphetamine. 

The subject was transported to the Bates County Jail and put on a 24 hour investigative hold. Charges are pending at this time.
