Attention Star Gazers tonight is the night

This post is for all our star gazer Facebook friends.....and we know there are a ton of you out there. If you've got a few hours to spare tonight or early Friday morning you should be able to catch a few meteors flying by....as many as 10-20 per hour.

The Orionid Meteor Shower will peak tonight. You can view it in the southeastern sky. Look for the Orion Constellation. The meteors will radiate from near this constellation. These meteors are actually debris from Halley's Comet but all annual meteor showers are named for the point in the sky from which they radiate. But if you do venture out you better bundle up as temps will bottom out in the middle and upper 30s.

And if you're out and about in northern Missouri don't fall asleep or you may wind up with a glaze of frost when you wake up.
