From the Belton Police Department

Activity levels for the police department naturally increase in the summertime and crime always spikes. We are asking that the public take the necessary preventative measures to prevent victimization. 

Thefts from vehicles and homes have increased since the beginning of the summer but can be substantially reduced just by simply locking your doors.
