Altona 4-H'ers get a little taste of the Old West

Gaven Hale, Jay Walley and Haley Bolling
visit the past in Montana
4-H members Haley Bolling and Gaven Hale, along with shooting coach, Jay Walley, and their families, made the trek to Montana to participate in the National 4-H Western Heritage and Cowboy Action competition July 24 – 28, 2017.

During this week-long event in Great Falls, Montana, 4-H members and their coaches, don a western persona and participate in shooting events with vintage revolvers, long gun .22’s and shotguns, test their knowledge on the who’s and how’s of our nation’s western and cowboy heritage, and tell the tale of why the 4-H member chose their persona.

Haley is pictured as Young Gun Cheyanne, Gaven as Trapper Dean, and Jay as the Sheriff. While at the event, the group was able to meet, The Beard of Knowledge, from the hit TV series Pawn Stars.

All participants are members of the Altona 4-H, Adrian, MO.
