Late Monday the Bates County Sheriff's Department responded the report that a subject had slit his wrists in an apparent suicide attempt at McBee's General Store on the south edge of Amsterdam. The subject was given emergency medical treatment and then referred to mental health professionals for evaluation.
No charges were filed in the case.
