IDENTITY THEFT-Butler On 01/04/2011, Deputies were dispatched to the Bates County Sheriff's Office, 6 West Fort Scott, Butler, MO in reference to possible identity theft. Upon arrival Deputies were met by the victim who has a rural route Butler address. The victim had received a collection letter on a bad check. The victim stated that he hasn't had an active checking account for 12 years.
THEFT-Adrian On 01/04/2011, Deputies were dispatched to the Bates County Sheriff's Office, 6 West Fort Scott, Butler, MO in reference to a walk-in report of theft of tools from Route 1 Adrian, MO. The reporting party stated that 2 pouches of socket set of tools were taken from his residence on 01/03/2011. The estimated value of the tools was $100.00 total.

THEFT OCCURRED EARLIER-Rich Hill- On 01-07-2011, at approximately 1145 hours, Deputies were dispatched to the Rich Hill area reference a theft that had occurred sometime in the last two years. Upon arrival it was determined that a theft had occurred and a report was taken.
DISTURBANCE-Rich Hill On 01-07-11 the Bates County Sheriff's Office received a call of a disturbance near Rich Hill. Deputies arrived and placed a male in custody for that disturbance. The male was held on a 4 hour Domestic hold.
