Overnight fire damages Pippin residence

Just before 4 a.m. this morning, Butler, Rich Hill and Appleton City Fire Departments were called to the Don Pippin residence just off N Highway on CR2496 on the report of a fire in the upstairs portion of the home. The homeowner attempted to extinguish the fire, but had to vacate the residence due to extreme heat and smoke. No injuries were reported and crews were on the scene about 3 hours.

According to Butler Fire Chief Jim Henry there was heavy damage in the area of fire origin and heavy smoke and water damage throughout the home.
