71 Highway bridge closes March 25

The Route 71 North bridge over the Missouri Northern Arkansas railroad south of Butler closes March 25 for replacement as part of MoDOT's Safe & Sound Bridge program. Traffic will be moved onto the southbound lanes during construction. Once the bridge reopens in early June, the southbound bridge will be closed for replacement, and traffic will be routed onto the northbound lanes until that bridge is finished in mid-August.

Missouri has 10,249 bridges on the state highway system, the 7th largest total nationwide. The Safe & Sound Bridge program will improve 802 of the state's most worn-out bridges.
