6 arrested in Bates County drug bust; more sought

Braden
Last Wednesday, the Bates County Sheriff’s Office along with members of the Butler Police Department and CNET Drug Task Force swung into action commencing Operation Weed and Seed.  The Sheriff’s Office concluded multiple drug investigations that spanned over 4 months long.  Operation Weed and Seed roundup was selected to take place on 4/20.  April 20 seems to be significant to marijuana users because the numbers 420 is often referred to when talking about marijuana.  The Roundup portion of the operation began at approximately 4:20pm.  Law Enforcement Officers began to converge on the residence of the suspects wanted for multiple drug charges stemming from the investigations.
