The 2011 Butler Bears football team had an outstanding season, finishing with a record of 10 wins and 2 losses. The Bears won the Class 2 District 13 championship and finished 2nd in the Crossroads Conference. The only 2 losses on the season came to Class 3 Imagine Renaissance Academy, and in the Sectional playoff game to the Higginsville Huskers; the eventual state runner-up.
The Bears were led by a great group of 11 seniors, who were not only very good players, but also outstanding leaders. Those seniors include, Brian Todd, Michael Coy, Michael Keener, Nick Hulse, Austin Shatto, Cale Diehl, Stacy Davenport, Kyle Martin, Austin Fix, Joe Strauch, and Antonio Valencia.
The Bears were also well represented with post-season honors which include:

2011 Volleyball Season Summary
The Lady Bears volleyball team ended with a record of 14-13. The girls battled the home town Archie Whirlwinds in the championship game to win first place in the Archie Tournament. The Lady Bears took 5th place in the Crossroads Conference. The girls made it through the first round of Districts. The girls played well working together and having fun playing the game they love, making this a great year.
This was a great first year as a high school volleyball coach, working with a great assistant coach, group of girls, and parents. ~Lynelle Smith

2011 Softball Season Summary
The Lady Bears Softball Team ended their softball season with a 9-13 record. They placed 2nd at the Lamar Tournament, 5th at the Leeton Tournament, and 2nd in Conference. They won their first round district game against Summit Christian Academy, but lost in the second round to the district champion Archie Whirlwinds. Notable victories this season included 3 wins over Adrian, a come-from-behind win over Leeton, and a hard fought win over Archie on Senior Night.
Senior Tori Stauffacher broke the school’s batting average record with a .556 average, and Jennifer McMurphy set a school record for best fielding percentage with a .994 average. The lady Bears are continuing to improve and are excited about the future of the program. ~Heather Goldammer
