Coach Wackerman’s Comments-
“Overall, we had a positive start for tournament competition. We placed 4th in this tournament last season, and the tournament was definitely stronger this year than last year. Our freshmen beat themselves a few times in very winnable matches, but inexperience will sometimes lead to that happening. Cale Diehl stood out among the veterans, winning a tournament for the first time in his career and wrestling with a smart strategy. Having seen 8 schools from our district this weekend, our wrestlers now have an understanding of where they stack up compared to other established wrestlers in our district. We will have 2 months of training and tough competition before returning to Knob Noster for the district tournament in February. We must clean up the fundamentals, focus on time management in matches, and wrestle much more tactically to increase our success as this month continues.”
