Coach Wackerman’s Comments-
“Our wrestlers rebounded from tough Thursday night dual. We wrestled strong competition at Warsaw, seeing the rest of our district and some wrestlers in new weight classes since we saw many of these teams at the beginning of the season. Individually, we have several wrestlers on pace to qualify for the state tournament and hopefully we can bring home a few medals. Cale Diehl performed exceptionally well, bringing home the gold medal for the third time this season. He rebounded from a tough loss in the morning rounds to a Clinton wrestler by tech-falling the same wrestler in the championship match in the evening. Our wrestlers need to maintain the same focus and energy that we have shown the past 2 weekends as districts approach in February. We now have an opportunity to wrestle a few duals on the road and at home in the coming weeks.”
