Brooke McGuire, age 20 of Butler, is trying to raise $550.00 to go on her first ever mission trip to Haiti. She is the daughter of Kelly McGuire of Butler and Kim McGuire of Oklahoma and is needing help to fund this trip. She believes that God is calling her to Haiti and she is looking forward to serving him through this mission.
Mission Hope Haiti, is located 20 miles north of Port au Prince. The complex reaches out to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of the people living there. The nutrition program ensures that over 50 thousand children throughout Haiti receive a hot meal at school each day. Over 1000 orphaned children receive three meals a day.
The trip expenses include lodging, transportation in Haiti, project expenses, M.O.H. expenses but does not include airfare, so any donation above and beyond the $550.00 will be appreciated.
The Virginia United Methodist church will host a fund raising event for Brooke McGuire and all proceeds will assist with the cost of the trip. Everyone is invited to attend the Chili and Vegetable Soup Dinner on Saturday, February 18th in the Youth Fellowship Hall at the Virginia United Methodist church. Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 pm and your free will donations will be appreciated.
Anyone who would like to help is invited to call Brooke for more information 660-424-4192.
