Funeral services for Charlie Boyd will be 3 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Brother Bill Perkey officiating. There is no visitation. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Contributions to Heartland Hospice or Butler First Christian Church.
Charles “Charlie” Homer Boyd, age 87 of Butler, Missouri, died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Adrian Manor in Adrian, Missouri. He was born April 16, 1925 to Grover Vergil and Amy Alice Cox Boyd in Bates County, Missouri.
Charlie is survived by two sons, Jerry Boyd and wife Elaine and Terry Boyd and Pam, all of Harrisonville, Missouri; two sisters, Alma Lou Anderson of Overland Park, Kansas and Alice Wendleton of Independence, Missouri; three grandchildren, Katie Satrom and husband Russell, Eric Boyd and girlfriend Sarah Holland and Geriann Boyd; one brother-in-law; and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jeanie in 1995; two brothers, Milford and Junior; and three sisters, Shirley Boyd, Ruby Knowles and Thelma Lankford.
