Obituary - Lola Grimsley

Funeral services for Lola Grimsley will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Pastor E. Wayne Pierce officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 1-2 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Benjamin Cemetery, Amoret, Missouri. Contributions to Bates County Genealogy Committee.

Lola Luetta Grimsley, age 86 formerly of Amoret, Missouri passed Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Adrian Manor in Adrian, Missouri. She was born October 15, 1925 to Dwight Hicklin Sr. and Evelyn Phoebe Dixon Bitner in Amoret.

Lola enjoyed reading history and mystery novels, sewing, mowing her yard and researching genealogy. She was even able to trace her family’s history all the way back to Ireland. Lola is survived by one son, Alan Grimsley and wife Martha of Adrian, Missouri; two daughters, Judy Pierce and husband Earl of Butler, Missouri and Fran Roberts and companion James Diehl of Topeka, Kansas; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bitner of Butler, Missouri and Loraine Bitner of Miami, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, Perry and Tracy Ewbank, Jennifer Doring, Loretta Gray, Josh and Sara Grimsley and Terie Beverlin; 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Bill” Grimsley; two brothers, Dwight and Truman Bitner; one sister, Erma Johnston and a great-granddaughter, Cassidy Jo Grimsley.
