5th graduate from Adult Recovery Court this evening

Program proves to be a success as 5th person graduates from Bates County Adult Recovery Court

For those in our community aware of the drug problem facing our teenagers and adults you know the battle but you may not be aware of the Bates County Adult Recovery Court Team that works with those accepted into the program to strive for success as a drug and dependent free citizen of our community.

Each acceptant participates in an 18 month program with the goal of graduation and the dismissal of pending charges upon Graduation from the program. The mission of the Bates County Drug Court Program is to reduce the impact of drug use on the community and the criminal justice system and to assist individuals in breaking the cycle of addiction by incorporating early court intervention, treatment and education to improve the safety and quality of life for all citizens.

Those involved agree to attend 3- NA meetings each week, submit to daily drug testing, attend Pathways for counseling , maintain a job and each participant will agree to appear before Judge Debra Hopkins in Court at least once each week , during phase 1 - to track their success. Each participant has a curfew and a tracker is sent to confirm that this curfew is being kept. Each participant reports to the Probation and Parole Office on a weekly basis.
