On 1-15-2013 The Butler Police Department responded to a call of suspicious activity of a male subject in a field on the 900 block of East Pine Street. Upon arrival officers made contact with the reporting party. After further investigation by officers of the Butler Police and Bates County Sheriffs Office and CNET Drug Task Force several items commonly used in the production of methamphetamine were identified. With assistance from the Bates County Sheriffs Office the items were transported to the Butler Police Department and field tested. The male Subject was later identified as Christopher Cook. On 1/30/2013 Butler Police along with Bates County Sheriffs Office and CNET Drug Task Force performed a vehicle stop on West 52 Highway occupied by Christopher Cook and 3 other occupants. Cook was arrested on a warrant for Possession of Chemicals with intent to manufacture and is being held on a $20,000 bond. Scottie Cook another passenger in the vehicle was also arrested on a outstanding Arkansas warrant.
