Hume News March 18, 2013


     Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Troy Wehar, who passed away following a courageous battle with cancer.  He was a young man that we all watched grow up to become a wonderful family man with strong faith. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

    Erin Armentrout, daughter of Mark and Carla Armentrout competed at the Missouri Bow Hunters Association State Indoor Championship Tournament held March 9 and 10 at Linn State Technical College, she shot a combined score of 592 with 67 X”s winning the Young Adult Female Freestyle division.  Erin is member of the Missouri State 4’H Archery Team and the Bates County 4-H Archery project.

      Several attended the Lion’s Club Annual Pancake Supper on Saturday, March 16.  They served delicious pancakes, sausage and eggs.  The Lion’s Club appreciates all who came out and supported the supper.  The Lion’s Club is an organization responsible for the up keep of the ball field and also have bought glasses for community members in need.

       Hume Christian Church News:  On Easter morning, Sunrise services will be held at 6:30 a.m. with worship service at 11:00 a.m.

       Hume United Methodist Church News:  Maundy Thursday Candle Service will be held on March 28 at 7:00 p.m.  Worship service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday.

       Don’t forget the Community Easter Morning service with the Hume Community Choir performing “Amazing Love” at 7:30 a.m. in the multi-purpose room of the Hume High School.  A carry-in breakfast will be held following the performance.  All are invited to join in the celebration.

        If you don’t have a church home all the Churches in the Hume area invite you to worship with them.
